October 23rd is a date that will forever remain etched in our hearts — but not for a reason anyone would want to remember. It was one of the worst days of our lives, the day our one-year-old son, Wojtuś, suffered a devastating accident that changed everything in an instant.
It happened in a split second, a moment that feels impossibly long when you replay it over and over in your mind. Sunday dinner had just ended. Our home was filled with the ordinary rhythm of family life when Wojtuś, curious and fast on his tiny legs, ran into the kitchen and accidentally pulled the deep fryer cord. The hot oil spilled over his small body. The scream that followed will never leave us — a cry of pain so raw, so desperate, that it pierced our hearts completely.
We rushed him to the hospital in a state of shock. The diagnosis was terrifying: Wojtuś had burns covering 40 percent of his body, with his arms and legs bearing the worst of the injuries. Every parent’s worst nightmare had come true in an instant. The doctors moved quickly, stabilizing him and ensuring his survival, but the fear and uncertainty were unbearable. We were caught between hope and despair, praying that our little boy would survive each passing hour.

Initially, Wojtuś’s condition seemed stable, and we allowed ourselves a sliver of hope. But the situation deteriorated, and he was soon admitted to the ICU in serious condition. For over two weeks, he fought for his life. Each day was a battle — tubes, monitors, alarms, and the constant fear that the next moment could bring tragedy. As his parents, we stayed by his side, whispering comfort, holding his tiny hands, and trying to breathe through the panic ourselves. It was the hardest period of our lives.
Slowly, with the help of skilled medical teams, Wojtuś began to stabilize. Against the odds, he survived. We were able to bring him home, though the reality of recovery immediately became clear. The accident left lasting physical effects: Wojtuś stopped walking for a time, his left hand remains weak, and two of his fingers are contracted. The journey to recovery is far from over. Laser therapy, rehabilitation, compression garments, specialized medications, and continuous monitoring are now part of our daily life.
Each session, each therapy, each careful step forward is a battle in itself. We have learned to celebrate small victories — a minute of balance regained, a finger stretched, a smile that reaches his eyes. Every improvement reminds us that our son’s strength and resilience are greater than the injuries he has endured.

Despite our dedication, the cost of Wojtuś’s care is overwhelming. We never imagined we would have to ask for help, yet we are faced with the reality that the specialized treatment, therapies, and equipment necessary to give him the best chance at a healthy childhood are beyond our means. Every contribution, no matter the size, is crucial. Each donation becomes a part of Wojtuś’s healing — a step toward regaining mobility, strength, and independence.
Our hope is simple but profound: that Wojtuś can grow up healthy, strong, and happy. That the accident which changed his life will not define it. That with proper care, he can walk, play, and enjoy the childhood every child deserves.
We write this not only to share our story, but to ask for support — for your help, your prayers, and your generosity. Together, we can give Wojtuś the therapies, medical interventions, and rehabilitation he needs to reclaim the life that is his by right. Every act of kindness brings him one step closer to recovery.
Wojtuś has already survived the unimaginable. He has endured pain, fear, and suffering beyond what anyone should face at his age. Now, with the help of those who care, he can continue to fight, grow, and thrive. Our family will remain by his side every moment, but we cannot do it alone.

Please, help us restore our son’s health. Help us give Wojtuś the chance to walk, to play, and to live fully. Your support will not only provide critical care — it will provide hope, reassurance, and the belief that even after the darkest moments, healing and joy are possible.
